Here’s a collection of frequently asked questions:
Why do you publish as articles or instalments instead of as whole books?
This is a very good question, and we answer it here in the Legacy of Serialisation.
Why is the publication called Lamp & Ledger?
The lamp evokes illumination—revealing what is hidden, casting light on the dark places, corners of history and memory. The ledger suggests accounting, a careful record of instalments, each chapter entered like a payment in sequence. But accounting is also reckoning: a tally of duty, desire, morality, and memory. Together, Lamp & Ledger honours the tradition of serialised storytelling—lighted fragments preserved in order, each instalment part of a larger reckoning.
Will these ever be published as books?
We hope to, your reception of the stories determines which ones get published.
Why do you use UK English Spellings?
Oh, you mean words like serialised, colour, honour, instalments, etc? Well, for obvious reasons.
